Interagency Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship: Information Technology Subcommittee
Policy makers and industry representatives in California will discuss the German apprenticeship model as a successful career alternative for young students in the U.S.
The committee was created to support California Governor Gavin Newsom's goal of establishing 500,000 apprenticeships in the state by 2029. The governor has determined that the German model is one that California can learn and benefit from.
As a part of Wunderbar Together, representatives of the German American Vocational Career Program (DIAG USA) are taking part in committee work and using German frame curricula in order to develop Minimum Industry Training Criteria that provide support to businesses and education providers interested in apprenticeships.
