German American Conference at Harvard 2021
The 2021 German American Conference will be held in fall 2021 under the theme “The Future of Problem Solving.” It will serve as a launchpad for addressing the post-Covid realities, bringing together leading U.S. and German thinkers, policymakers, representatives of businesses, civil society and NGOs.
Building on the success of the 2020 online event series, we are reinventing this year’s conference as a hybrid event, integrating virtual and in-person speakers and attendees. Over the course of three days, 250 in-person participants and many more online participants, will engage in lively discussions, networking and exchange diverse perspectives on the most pressing topics of our time.
The prism of “problem solving” will allow us to look firmly into the future, with hope and aspiration. We understand the conference as a launchpad because it is only the beginning of a conversation: successful cooperation emerges from bringing current and future leaders from both sides of the Atlantic together to build lasting connections. This is the community the GAC has built over the last 12 years. With this year’s edition, we seek to inform and inspire a new generation of students and practitioners, and will continue to grow our distributed community.
