Deal or No Deal? Brexit and its Implications for Europe and the Transatlantic Alliance

Friday, December 4, 2020, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM EST

On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the head of the Bank of England warned that the failure to secure a trade deal with the European Union would do more damage to the U.K. economy over the long run than the coronavirus pandemic. Time is running out for negotiators as they enter the final stretch to reach a deal. But, what does Brexit – with or without a deal - mean for Europe and for the transatlantic alliance? Please join 1014 and the ACG for a discussion with Young Leader alumna Heather Conley, Senior Vice President for Europe, Eurasia, and the Arctic and Director of the Europe Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Klaus-Dieter Frankenberger, Foreign Editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and David Smith, the Guardian’s Washington DC Bureau Chief.
