Annual Award Dinner honoring German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier
President Steinmeier will join guests of the LBI in person for a dinner and ceremony at the Center for Jewish History, at which he will receive the Leo Baeck Medal.
Ambassador Ronald S. Lauder will deliver remarks.
As an internationally-prominent businessman, philanthropist, community and civicleader, Ambassador Lauder maintains a deep commitment to his Judaic heritage within a mosaic of charitable and professional endeavors that reach around the world. He is the President of the World Jewish Congress, former Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, and President of the Jewish National Fund. He is a trustee and/or member of the board of: The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Anti-Defamation League Foundation, the Jewish Theological Seminary, Brandeis University, and the Abraham Fund. He is a member of the International Society for Yad Vashem and the International Board of Governors of the Tel Aviv Museum. As Chairman of the Jewish Heritage Program of the World Monuments Fund, he is involved in stimulating the restoration of landmark synagogues across the globe.
The dinner will take place live, in-person at the Center for Jewish History, 15 W. 16th St., New York, but also as a virtual conference for those unable to attend in person.
